Lesson Four: Jewish Life in the Ghettos

About this lesson

This lesson focuses on the shift in Nazi policy toward Jews, from pressuring Jews to leave Germany to forcing European Jews into isolation in ghettos throughout the countries they occupied, including Poland. Students will examine life in the ghetto through primary sources, including photographs and diary entries of Jewish children and teenagers who lived in the ghettos.
